FOOD AND DRINK

There is a large Tesco in Oban but for something a little closer there is Balvicar Stores located right next to the cottage. This little grocer seems to have everything you'll ever need.

There are two pubs on the island,
Tigh an Truish by the Atlantic Bridge.  +44 (0) 1852 300242
Oyster Brewery, Ellenabeich.  +44 (0) 1852 300121.

Both serve food,  but Tigh an Truish has a more limited service in the winter,  and for the Oyster Brewery you should book ahead.

Tigh an Truish also has a petrol pump and small souvenir shop.

On Easdale Island there is the Puffer Bar and Café.  Check opening hours, especially in the winter.

There are several excellent restaurants in Oban, including EE-Usk,  a fish restaurant on the North Quay, a neighbouring Italian restaurant under the same management, and the Seafood Temple on the south side of the seafront, +44 (0) 1631 566000.

Oban is famous for its seafood, including several excellent fish and chip shops.

The Country Kitchen is a delicatessen in Oban with a spectacular range of local produce, and a coffee shop upstairs.

The George Hotel in Inveraray makes an excellent stop en route to Glasgow. Also the Loch Fyne Restaurant on Loch Fyne.
